Rollcaster 0.4.6: a better Mac, and Find tray
Rollcaster 0.4.6 is out for Windows, macOS and Linux.
A better Mac
This one is mostly for our Mac players, who found some rough edges in 0.4.5. Thank you for the reports.
- Shared sessions work on a Mac. Creating or joining a session on the hosted relay now connects, instead of waiting forever.
- Updating from inside the app reopens it normally. Before, macOS could call the updated app "damaged" and you had to reinstall. Updating from 0.4.5 to 0.4.6 is already covered.
- Rollcaster for Mac now needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later. On an older Mac, you get a clear message to upgrade, instead of an app that opens but can't read dice. Every Apple Silicon Mac can run macOS 14.
Find tray
Calibrate has a new Find tray button. Show it your empty tray and it sets the tray area for you. If you liked the old one better, Undo puts it back.
Smaller things
- If joining a shared session keeps failing, the Shared session panel now tells you why instead of saying "connecting..." forever.
Get it
If you have 0.4.4 or newer, Rollcaster will offer this update the next time you start it. Otherwise, download Rollcaster 0.4.6 and install it over your current version: your settings and dice sets are kept.
